The Cardinal Gates Stairway Special Baby Gate (Model SS30) is our maximum safety gate designed for the top of a stairway, making it great for all areas. Its features include a latch system that baffles toddlers yet allows one-handed operation for adults, and an optional stop bracket that prevents the gate from opening over a stairway, providing higher safety and more peace of mind.

The Stairway Special gate is adjustable and can be mounted at angles up to 30 degrees, allowing for installation in unique areas and mounting to offset studs in drywall. With a height of 29.5 inches, the gate can close off openings from 27 to 42.5 inches out of the box, and optional 10.5-inch and 21.75-inch extensions (Models BX-1 and BX-2, sold separately) can increase the span up to a maximum of 64.25 inches.

Constructed of high-quality, lightweight, and virtually rustproof aluminum, with no plastic parts to break or wear out, the Stairway Special features a powder-coated finish for a long-lasting, easy-to-clean surface. All necessary hardware for basic installation is included in the box, and the gate is available in either white or black to suit your home decor.

The Stairway Special Gate is JPMA (Juvenile Product Manufacturers Association) certified, ensuring the highest level of safety for your child. If you plan to use the gate outdoors, a stainless steel hardware pack (sold separately) is recommended.
